Haven is a Jesus-centred community shaped by a common life, longing to see people set free to life in Jesus.

We exist to see our city set free to life in Jesus.

Our Mission

We believe in the power of God to heal lives and transform entire communities. Jesus came to give life to the full (John 10:10), setting people free from darkness and drawing them into His kingdom. That freedom unfolds both in powerful moments of encounter and gradually, as we learn to walk in His ways, by the power of the Spirit. As we experience the life God intends for us, we are compelled to see it overflow into our city — in homes, neighbourhoods, and on every street.

“God is our safe-haven and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear…

PSALM 46:1-3

The Rhythms That Ground Us

Life with Jesus is always life in community with His people. These three common (or, “shared”) rhythms ground us in the ancient Way of Jesus so that, together, we can be transformed by His Spirit into people who can bring live and love as He did.

Common
Way

01

We are devoted to a Common Way centred on the table and practiced through service, witness, and sacrifice.

Common
Prayer

02

We are devoted to Common Prayer through practicing the Prayer of Jesus and a shared reading of Scripture.

We are devoted to Common Worship built on the Word, the Sacraments, and prayer.

Common
Worship

03

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common.

The Family

Nathan + Sharnele Harrison

Planting Family, Haven Church

Nathan and Sharnele Harrison have a deep love for Jesus, His Church, and the people He came to save. Married since 2013, they are raising their three young children—Loxley, Nora, and Myles—in a home full of messy meals, musical bedtime liturgies, and a whole lot of books. Together, they are passionate about cultivating a community that is centred on the life, death, resurrection, and way of Jesus—all for the good of the city. In the fall of 2024, they stepped out in faith, leaving behind comfort and security to begin forming a new church community. They long to see a church where everyone feels welcome to encounter Jesus and find hope, healing and life in Him.
