New Westminster, BC
150 years.
That’s about how long God’s people have been praying over the city of New Westminster, contending to see a move of His Spirit on these streets and in our neighbourhoods.
This January, it’s our turn to step into the story that God is writing in this city on a hill, set in the middle of the lower mainland.
Haven is a Jesus-centred community shaped by a common life, longing to see people set free to life in Jesus.
Nathan & Sharnele Harrison
Planting Family
Nathan and Sharnele Harrison have a deep love for Jesus, His Church, and the people He cameto save. Married since 2013, they are raising their three young children—Loxley, Nora, and Myles—in a home full of messy meals, musical bedtime liturgies, and a whole lot of books.
Together, they are passionate about cultivating a community that is centred on the life, death, resurrection, and way of Jesus—all for the good of the city. In the fall of 2024, they stepped out in faith, leaving behind comfort and security to begin forming a new church community. They long to see a church where everyone feels welcome to encounter Jesus and find hope, healing and life in Him.
Timeline
For the last year, we have been forming a community in our home who is learning to follow Jesus together in New Westminster. This has looked like gathering for a meal and discipleship once a week, serving the community, praying, and gathering for monthly prayer and worship nights. But we’re excited to see what God does as we add a Sunday gathering rhythm to our community.

We’ll be spending this month forming and equipping the team who will make it all happen, week in and week out.

We’ll be gathering each Sunday as a Launch Team, continuing to build the team and establish our rhythms of worship and prayer together.

Do you want to be a part of seeing a move of God in New Westminster? Then you’re invited to consider joining our Launch Team this fall.
That may sound intimidating, so here’s what that means.
What is a Launch Team?
The Haven Launch Team is a group of people who have committed to the mission of Haven Church for a minimum of one year: praying, serving, giving, and carrying the responsibility of seeing it flourish. They may remain long-term members of the Haven family, or they may only join for a season.

Pray for spiritual protection over our launch team, and contend with us to see people set free to life in Jesus.

We’ll be gathering at F. W. Howay Elementary School in New Westminster.

No, you don’t need to live here or move here. But, we love New West and think you would too.
On a more serious note, if you’re considering joining us, then we’d invite you to pray about moving into the city with us.

Setup/Teardown
Worship
and more!

Every launch team member is invited to:
Pray for the church and its leadership
Serve on a team
Give financially (as they are able)
Attend team training sessions and regularly on Sundays
Join a Neighbourhood Community (as available in the near future).
